What is the cost for a consultation if I do not have insurance or I have an HMO/EPO or MediCal
insurance?

​

The cost for a consultation is $125. If you decide to do a same day treatment at our office, we apply the
consultation cost towards the treatment.

What services do you offer?

​

We offer a wide range of medical and cosmetic dermatology services. Some services we provide include:
skin checks, mole or skin tag removals, cyst drainage, lipoma removals, wart removals, nail fungus, hair
loss, and dandruff. We commonly evaluate patients for rashes which include psoriasis, eczema, skin
infections, and ring worm. We also treat acne and acne scars, rosacea, melasma, neurotoxin injections,
filler injections, and lasers for skin tightening and rejuvenation. A more extensive list of services is

Do you have LASERs?

​

Yes! We have over a dozen LASERs that treat a wide variety of medical and cosmetic skin conditions, we
even have LASERs that are safe on dark skin types. Most of our LASERs have no downtime and are non-
painful. You may resume all normal activities immediately after most LASER treatments.

How many LASER treatments are recommended for acne and acne scars?

​

We recommend at least 6 treatments for acne and 9 treatments for acne scars for optimal benefit. We
do expect for see improvements over time and we see the best results with multiple consistent
treatments separated by 2-4 weeks.

Do you offer Accutane for acne treatment?

​

Yes! If appropriate, we treat severe acne with Accutane. Females must be on two forms of birth control
and all patients must complete blood work prior to starting Accutane treatment in accordance to
iPLEDGE guidelines.

Do you treat melasma or hyperpigmentation?

​

Yes! We have multiple modalities to treat melasma and sun damaged skin. We offer chemical peels,
LASERs, LED Green Light treatments, and compounded topical bleaching and exfoliating products to help
minimize melasma. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Newman to find out which of these is the best
treatment for your melasma.

Do you specialize in treating a specific skin tone?

​

Yes! Unlike most dermatology offices who have limited experience or resources in treating skin of color,
it is extremely important to Dr. Newman to have personalized and comprehensive treatment options for
people of color. We have resources and technology including LASERs specific for and safe for Black,
Hispanic, Indian, and Middle Eastern skin.

Do you offer facials?

No.

Do you speak Spanish?

​

Yes! We always have staff members that speak Spanish and we comfortably treat all Spanish speaking
patients.

What is the cash pricing for a mole removal?

​

The cash price for a mole removal starts at $500.

What is the price per unit for neurotoxin injections (brand names: Botox and Jeuveau)?

​

$15 per unit.

What types of filler do you use?

​

We carry hyaluronic acid fillers. These are temporary fillers used to enhance your features. We carry
Juvoderm and RHA types of fillers. The specific type and brand of filler is typically chosen by the provider
during the consultation. These fillers have antidotes in the case that the filler needs to be removed.
